Study: Most Marketers Satisfied With Their Email Marketing Tools

A large majority (85%) of email marketers feel that their current systems meet their requirements. In addition, 84% are likely to recommend the product they use.
These were a few of the key finding of the Winter 2015 Report on email marketing platforms from G2 Crowd, a business software review platform.
The Winter 2015 Report analyzed roughly 720 reviews, highlighting 16 email marketing tools that received high customer satisfactory rates. The email marketing solutions were measured on The Grid, G2 Crowd’s software review engine that factors in customer satisfaction reported by users and vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products.
Products in the email marketing category tend to have relatively higher satisfaction scores than products in other categories on the site, according Tim Handorf, president and co-founder of G2 Crowd, in an interview with Demand Gen Report.
Handorf added: “We also saw a few themes in many of the reviews that were submitted. For instance, reviewers discussed their need for responsive and mobile-friendly templates, in addition to better analytics to help them track and understand the performance of their email campaigns.”
The report broke the email marketing solutions up into four categories:
- Leaders — solutions that has a high customer satisfaction rating and a significant market presence. Companies in this category include Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp and Oracle Responsys;
- High Performers — solutions with high customer satisfaction ratings, but smaller market presence. Companies in this category include Maropost and Launchpad;
- Contenders — solutions that have market presence, but notably lower customer satisfaction ratings; and
- Niche — solutions that are designed for a specific industry/vertical. Companies in this category include VerticalResponse and GatorMail.
The report also highlights companies with the highest customer satisfaction rating for small business, mid-market and enterprise corporations. This includes:
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Enterprise)
- MailChimp (Mid-Market); and
- Maropost (Small Business).
